Recording project advances
Mainstreet Brass has completed recording a new album that will include music enjoyed and often requested by the quintet's audiences over the years.
"We're planning to produce a CD that will capture many of our most entertaining, foot-tapping commissioned arrangements of jazz, folk tunes and light classics," said Kevin Long, co-principal trumpet and co-founder of the Mainstreet Brass.
"This is the CD people have been asking for, and we're eager to deliver it for our devoted fans," he said. "Look for it later this year. It promises to showcase some of our best work."
Richard Price, president of Candlewood Digital, a Connecticut-based company of classical recording specialists, is the chief engineer for the project. He is a nationally known arranger, conductor and brass player.
"We're thrilled to have Richard on board with us for this project," Long said. "His expertise in recording science and his stature in the brass world are legendary."
Mainstreet Brass will present several special concerts later this year to introduce the new recording.
